I'm Going To Write For Above The Law
They're giving me a column on a trial basis and I couldn't be more excited
Last week I promised to discuss my transition from e-discovery to contracts. I promise I’ll get to it soon! I’ve been a bit stretched thin lately though, especially since the nice folks at Above The Law agreed to let me write for them on a trial basis, starting on Tuesday.

I’ll write more about how this opportunity came up someday. My story stretches back to Clio Con in 2018 when I met one of their editors (and one of my favorite writers) at a happy hour. I’ve always wanted to write for Above The Law but never had the confidence to even ask, because I didn’t feel like a successful partner or GC. So I built my own platform, and own audience, and worked up the courage to finally make the ask a few weeks ago, when I cornered that same editor and suggested that we do something together.
So yeah this is a big deal for me. But don’t you worry, I’ll still be writing my unvarnished thoughts here! In the meantime, I’m going to be collecting ideas from comments in previous Substack articles, with an eye towards any themes that have emerged or that people seem interested in hearing more about.
If you have any ideas on what I should cover in my future columns let me know! You can email me directly or leave a comment below.
Thanks and have a wonderful Sunday!
Congratulations! I used to read their blog a lot back in the day. I hope it's an enjoyable experience for you. Please let us know when you start posting over there so I can read your thoughts there too! :)
Congrats Alex
