I'll go first. I'm Alex Su and I'm a lawyer who transitioned to legal tech. I've been in the space for 7 years, and worked as a quota carrying sales rep for most of my time. In 2021, I joined Ironclad, a leading legal tech company in the contracts space. In addition to my day job, I make memes and video skits poking fun at the legal profession. My goal is to connect with other like-minded people who are part of the legal ecosystem.

Hi, I'm Michelle and I'm a former prosecutor who transitioned to criminal legal system reform work a year ago. My day-to-day work at a large national nonprofit is a mix of consulting, project management, research, training, and grant writing. I'm also a part-time grad student in restorative justice, focusing specifically on criminal legal applications of various models.

I'm looking to connect with people who practice/d or are interested in: criminal law, nonprofit work, government, and public policy, as well as anyone who left or is working to leave the practice of law for something else, regardless of field. Hi Alex and all! Håkan here, should have become a programmer, ended up as a lawyer at some point. Have practiced law (mainly IT/IP), now "programming" again - working at Ericsson with all things legal automation (AI, expert automation, data modelling in the legal domain, CLMs etc etc etc). On the side I also consult around legal strategy, operations / automation, MS Power platform and play around with various open source tools for automation and AI (DocAssemble, MPT). Very much interested in what others have done and implement around automation - demos over memos / software over slideware.

Thanks. Alex. Hi all, I was a Biglaw associate a million years ago. I knew from day one, I wanted no part of this. I was just waiting for an inciting incident. I’m the meantime, I’d leave at 4:30 every day, wear turtlenecks flouting the dress code and turn down assignments. I was floating on my back. Amazingly, I wasn’t fired. I quit after 3 months . Over the intervening years I’ve had several startups all in the legal marketplace.

One I sold to a public company.. Another I had to put into Chap. 7. I launched my latest

project 2 weeks ago, www.exjudicata.com

If you have ever thought why in the world someone armed with your skill set and record of achievement has to practice law ,I urge you to visit us. Good luck to all. And never listen to anyone who tells you that you are going to fail.— Neil

Hey! I'm Kyle Westaway. I was an entrepreneur before I became an attorney, so I felt the pain points of an early stage founder working with traditional firms. So, when I launched my firm Westaway in 2008, I wanted to create a firm specifically designed for early stage founders. Here are a few ways we're innovating on the traditional business model of a law firm:

- Highly tech enabled = high efficiency

- No billable hours. We do our work on flat transparent fees right on our website.

- Fractional General Counsel - for a flat monthly fee startups get on-going legal support.

I'm looking to connect with other attorneys that are innovating on the legal business model.

I'm interested primarily in working in a legal capacity in the video game/esports industry. Other areas of interest include cannabis law, space law, criminal justice reform, disability rights, OSINT, wellbeing in the legal profession, and privacy law.

I want to take the bar, but I am open to alternative career paths. Happy to connect with anyone who shares my interests. Help with getting my career off the ground is greatly appreciated as well.
